The 5th Annual SEED Food & Wine Week Presented by Whole Foods Market returned to Miami with 10 events over five days (Wednesday, November 7- Sunday, November 11) and a total of 10,000 people in attendance. Local, regional and national chefs, restaurants, exhibitors, and personalities descended on the Magic City for the premiere plant-based festival. Check out my experience below:
SEED Festival Day Tasting Village at Magic City Studios – Saturday
Featuring plant-based treats from over 180 restaurants, bakeries, brands, wines, spirits and juices!
Vegan Pizza from Daiya
CBD Infused Brigadeiros by Chef Sol
Kettle One Botanical Cocktails with Raw Juce in the VIP Lounge
More goodies in the VIP Lounge
Mango and Edamame dish by Chef Cindy Hutson and Baptist Health next to the stage
Kombucha on Tap and Bottles from Mother Kombucha
Arepas with Spirulina Chimichurri from Mana Life Food
Kale Caesar Salad from Raw Juce
Passionfruit Flan from Plant Miami
My sister and I had so much fun at the tasting village. The key, as with most events in my opinion, is to get there early. Yes, I know this might seem like a foreign concept to most Miami residents, LOL. Anyway, the kombucha was flowing from many different vendors and to my liking there were lots of fun photo opportunities. It was an indoor and outdoor event with lots of swag and coupons to take home. There was even local organic produce available for purchase, I was pretty stoked to buy some organic corn at 50 cents each.
Eleven / Eleven Critical Mass Yoga, Meditation, and Brunch at The Sacred Space – Sunday
This was my first time visiting The Sacred Space in Wynwood, home of the Plant Miami Restaurant. It feels special right when you arrive. I definitely want to return and have a meal at Plant.
Yoga Sesh by led by Green Monkey Yoga
Exotic Herbal Hibiscus Nitro Iced Tea by Allegro Coffee
Navitas Chia Seed Pudding
Almond Cake by Amala Miami
Bread Pudding French Toast by Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House / Glass & Vine
Vegan Crab Cakes by The Cooking Collaborative
Dragon Fruit Acai Bowl by Plant Miami
Raspberry Jam Donuts from Chef Max Santiago
Cookies and Almond Milk from Night Owl Cookies
My favorite bite of the day was definitely the vegan crab cakes! It was also pretty much the only savory bite of the day. I overheard some comments from attendees about just that. I agreed, this was advertised as a brunch but there were a lot of sweets and desserts.. not all of which are pictured here. Aside from that, it was a nice event – the outdoor garden area is gorgeous and made for a great spot to enjoy the food after the 1 hour yoga session followed by a short meditation. It was also exciting to have celebrity chefs this accessible, they are right there at the tables preparing your food samples.
