True Food Kitchen, the award-winning seasonally inspired restaurant and scratch bar, recently opened the doors to its first South Florida location at Town Center at Boca Raton! Entrepreneur and restaurant visionary Sam Fox opened the first True Food Kitchen in Phoenix, Ariz. in 2008. The restaurant now has 22 locations! The progressive restaurant concept with a menu rooted in the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet, emphasizes wholesome, simple ingredients with simple preparations to highlight the natural health benefits and flavors of each ingredient.
My friends and I visited during opening week in February for brunch. Now, True Food is launching their spring menu so that means it’s time for another visit! On the new spring menu, you’ll find items such as Asparagus Toast, Grilled Artichoke and Pesto Pizza, and Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp.
Matcha Honey Lemonade
Edamame Dumplings (VEG) dashi, white truffle oil, asian herbs
The edamame dumplings are a must order! Delicate, flavorful, and a good source of vegetarian protein.
Roasted Heirloom Carrots (VEG GF) za’atar, sesame, pistachio, greek yogurt, dill
Herb Hummus (VEG) greek salad, feta, grilled pita bread
Smashed Avocado Toast (VEG) organic sunny side up egg, smoked gouda, black sesame
If you follow me on social media, then you’ve seem my obsession with the avocado toast trend. This rendition did NOT let me down! I loved that it had smoked Gouda and was piled high with healthful goodies.
Quinoa Johnny Cakes (VEG) banana, greek yogurt, maple syrup
These pancakes are massive! It’s a great item to share for brunch. Plus, you won’t feel as guilty as you might after eating regular pancakes because these are packed with nutritious quinoa for added protein and texture.
Ancient Grains (V) miso glazed sweet potato, turmeric, charred onion, snow pea, grilled portobello, avocado, hemp seed
Poke Bowl wild caught albacore, avocado, quinoa rice, mushroom, snow pea, cucumber, cashew, turmeric ponzu
The ancient grains bowl is another must order item. We ordered ours with salmon but you can choose a protein option of your preference. The miso glazed sweet potato were fantastic. This dish is wholesome goodness. I really liked the Poke Bowl, too. I couldn’t get enough of that turmeric ponzu sauce.
